Welcome to The Diligent Woman Podcast.
In Season 5 study along as Angela explores the lives of the Men & Women from Scripture: Learning to Live from the Great Cloud of Witnesses.
In today’s episode spend some time considering Abel and the lessons from his short story.
“Abel” means “breath” or “vapour”. It is translated as “vapor” in Proverbs 21:6, “vain” in Proverbs 31:30 and “vanity” and “vanities” in Ecclesiastes 1:2. Was Abel’s name given as a prophecy to the length of his life? I have no idea - but it is a fun connection in a world where the meanings of names often make a statement! The reality is his life was short-lived. His reputation, however, was not.
Today’s episode takes a walk through all the scriptures that talk about Abel to see how God saw him and his efforts while he was living. Abel is a lesson in the power of a reputation.
