In today’s episode spend some time looking at the nation of Assyria in the scriptures.
It may seem odd to study Assyria this way. But this is a nation full of men and women who made choices that either aligned them with the Lord God or didn’t. God gives us insight into HIM by our view of His dealings with other nations. We see God’s longsuffering, mercy, righteousness and justice from the story around Assyria.
Questions to consider:
What happens to those whom God helps but they then forget to be grateful?
What happens when they begin to believe their power is of their own making?
What happens when they fail to glorify God, the Creator of all things?
What happened to the Northern Kingdom of Israel can happen to us today. What happened to Assyria can happen to us today. It can happen to nations and it can happen to individuals. There are lessons for all of us in Assyria’s story through the eyes of God.
